The Landly home office is surrounded by 2 acres of garden in the bush.  Designing and developing this garden has meant planning for wildlife, dry summers, severe winter frosts, soil improvement (coastal bush sand), bushfire and realistic maintenance.

There is a large vegetable garden with an automatic watering system, edged by espaliered apples at one end and a fenced chicken run at the other end.  We have an orchard which is underplanted with hundreds of daffodils. The ornamental gardens have subtle colour and foliage themes, but are extremely tough, withstanding drought, frosts and voracious wildlife (mostly pademelons).  Close to the house, we have deliberately planted lusher and greener, and hopefully more fire resistant.  Further away from the house we have blended the garden to the native coastal bush.  We have mown secret tracks through the bush, and we undertake cool regeneration burns to reduce the fuel load and promote the native orchids. Sculptures, seats and quirky creative pieces are throughout the garden.
